Flow State
Flow state is the name of a project that I created to show my passion for MMA and combat sports.
I wanted to immerse my audience who have never participated in a combat sport before or for people who are curious to see what it’s like to train MMA. I decided that the best option for this was to film a sparring round with my friend and film it using a go pro to give that ‘first-person’ perspective, making the viewer feel like they’re the ones who are fighting.

The video is split-screen because I wanted to give both perspectives of what it’s like to fight each other. The video is black and white because I wanted nothing but the movements and the fight to capture the attention of the viewer, not the gear were wearing or anything else.
The music choice relates to music that I listen to on my way to training or during training. I think that this encapsulates the MMA community. Most clips on instagram and social media related to MMA have this sort of music in them, and a lot of fighters walk out to rap music and hip hop so it gives that authentic feeling like you’re at the gym, training and sparring.
